Course Overview -— Carbonate Diagenesis and Reservoir Development
COURSE OVERVIEW
This course is intended to introduce through lectures and exercises current concepts and techniques needed for evaluating the diagenetic overprint on carbonate reservoirs.
DESIGNED FOR
Exploration and Production Geologists
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course participants should be able to:
differentiate common diagenetic products and processes found in carbonate reservoirs
interpret sequence of diagenetic events in carbonate reservoirs using petrographic and geochemical techniques
describe relationship between diagenetic products, diagenetic environments and depositional facies, and use results to explain:
reservoir performance
predict reservoir continuity
know who to see or where to go for help with special technique
PREREQUISITES
Applied Carbonate Stratigraphy or equivalent to all the above courses
