Franz Meyer, Ph.D.
Franz O. Meyer is a consulting geologist and president of Carbonate Research Consulting with 30 years experience both as a carbonate researcher and lecturer in industry and academia. His industry carbonate expertise includes domestic and international exploration, reservoir characterization and training. He headed up Shell's distinguished carbonate training program for seven years in Houston, Texas. Subsequently he served as a mentor in the Saudi mentoring program, part-time trainer and conducted applied carbonate research on reservoir characterization while with Saudi Aramco. Franz holds a Ph.D. in Geology from The University of Michigan and taught geology and paleontology course there. Franz has published extensively, retains memberships with a number of professional societies (IAS, SEPM, AAPG). and served on the AAPG Educational Committee. He is also a NAUI Dive Master who has spent 27 years studying modern carbonate environments around the world.
