FIELD EXERCISE ON LOWER CRETACEOUS (FREDRICKSBURG) CARBONATES OF CENTRAL TEXAS
COURSE OVERVIEW

This course is intended to introduce through field exercises insights on reservoir quality, reservoir development potential, play concepts, and seismic program design in association with carbonate platform deposits.

DESIGNED FOR

Engineers, Geologists, Geophysicists in Exploration, Production

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course participants should be able to:

  • Interpret carbonate depositional facies from outcrop exposures
  • Evaluate reservoir potential of deposi-tional facies
  • Establish lateral facies relationships
  • Interpret depositional system for Lower Cretaceous deposits from seismic analysis
  • Integrate regional depositional facies distributions into a paleogeographic map
  • Develop play concepts from integra-tion of field, seismic, and structural map data
  • Organized presentation of results
