1996-2000 SAUDI ARAMCO, SAUDI ARABIA

Built stochastic 3D geologic models for reservoir characterization and pool delineation. Worked with engineers on development strategies and water encroachment management

1995-1996 CALAIS CONSULTANT INC., CANADA

Geological consultant for international projects. Clients included :
Sproule Associates Ltd. China projects : properties evaluation.
Sunwing Energy Ltd. China projects : properties evaluation, development planning and presentation to various institutional investment firms to raise capital.
Teknica Petroleum Services Ltd. Libya project : developed a correlation scheme and reconstructed the structural history of a highly fractured gas field.

1976-1994 IMPERIAL OIL LTD . (ESSO), CANADA

1992-1994 Research Specialist
Developed techniques to estimate porosity changes in sand after fracturing. Experimented on asphaltene precipitation by solvent extract of heavy oil and proved that minimal precipitation occurred with no effect on permeability.
1990-1992 and 1984-1986 EOR Specialist
Coordinated multi-discipline teams to determine the ion exchange capacity of clay and the injection critical velocity for waterflood of the Belly River pool. Implemented line drive waterflood in Norman Wells field based on geologic mapping. Delineated reservoir heterogeneity in the Mitsu field and input information for reservoir simulation to identify future waterflood strategy.
1987-1990 and 1977-1980, Heavy Oil Specialist
Created the first reservoir performance map to predict reservoir quality and heterogeneity. Built 3D models for reservoir characterization, pool delineation and oil in place calculations.
1986, 1981-1984, On loan to Exxon Production Research Company, Houston, Texas.
1986 Lead Geologist, China Project
Used 3D modelling techniques to delineate the heterogeneity of the Daqing field and high water production sands.
1983-1984, Supervisor, Aramco Project
Supervised the Aramco project team in studies such as stratigraphy, impact of microporosity on production and 3D modelling.
1981-1983 , Lead Geologist, Venezuela Project
Studied and mapped the water encroachment history of the LL7 reservoir. Recommended depletion strategy for future development of the field.
1976-1981, Project Geologist
Worked on various exploration plays in the Western Canadian Basin
